Is it me, or does this not quite tally with the BBC version I posted above your comment?
Sorry Digga, I am not too sure what you mean? If I seem to be repeating your post it could have been that my replies to threads can take a while.
I guess he means this bit (taken from a few posts earlier:

BBC article said:
The 54-year-old entered Parliament as MP for Islington South and Finsbury in 2005 and served as shadow energy and health spokeswoman before taking the role of shadow attorney general in 2011.

The daughter of a former assistant secretary general of the United Nations, she was born in Surrey and was called to the bar in 1983, specialising in criminal law.

But it could be Carinaman,

(or Perhaps her old man could have buggered off to NY with all the cash and left her and mum in a council house with no money to buy any flags???)

It was just that the BBC said "The daughter of a former assistant secretary general of the United Nations, she was born in Surrey". Didn't seem to quite fit with the Wikki bit, that's all.
I was reading up on her late lastnight. I think from Wikipedia, her mother was a Teacher and her parents split up when she was seven so maybe she grew up in a Council house after her parents divorced?

Reading through Wikipedia is says she stood up against Brown's detention plan for suspected terrorists, which was basically using bogeymen as a political football to show who was hardest on terrorists. I'd back her up on that one.

She's probably not all bad and the Tweet could have been an ill considered school day out like gaffe during the hustings. It's not the sort of conduct I'd expect from a Barrister in their 50s.

Maybe, but I have a suspicion that, like much of the Labour elite, she would like the working classes 'in theory', but that really means as they were at least 30 or 40 years back.

Ed Miliband has been interviewed by Sky.

Reporter: “What goes through your mind when you see a white van outside a house?”

Hapless Ed: “What goes through my mind is respect.”

If Ed is with the Staines Massive that could be a vote winner.

From what I can see he has bought his house. He goes out to work. He pays his taxes. Like millions of other people he is probably struggling on doing his fair of grafting and putting food on the table. That politician is an utter disgrace and portrays one of the many things wrong with the left wing political elite whom run the Labour Party sneering down on anyone who does not fit the mold.

I might be being dense, why is that a DT video of a event organised by the Sun?

Sun photoshoots tend to make people look like tossers regardless of who they are. Don't know why, there's probably a page 3 pun in there...

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised. Labour hasn't really been the party of the patriotic self employed since, well, ever.

Someone called Emily from Islington sounds far more like their core vote.

He's decided to accept an offer from the Sun to visit her property, perhaps with a view to confronting her. Seems like a chav to me.

ETA: How the hell do you know he pays his taxes? You don't have any more of a clue about him than the dozy mare who posted the picture. your assumption is just as lazy and lacking in respect.

Edited by Pothole on Friday 21st November 17:14
wow. rofl

So what? It is nice to see the politicians getting some stick, they deserve it. They spend far too much time buried up the ivory towers to care about the ordinary hard working man on the street. So what if the Sun paid him? If he makes a few quid and it humiliates some stuck up snob then good on him.

Well i am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he pays his taxes and assume he is honest, why would i judge otherwise, i would imagine that the Labour party are currently doing anything in their power to discredit him to win back some credibility. We will see.

Thanks for your kind assumptions about me! I am not lazy or lacking in respect, but thanks all the same. I think maybe from the start of this your assumptions were based on the picture of what you perceived the be a 'chav'. Your words not mine. My mind can expand and be a bit more open and less cynical.

Labour politician v chav, tough choice for the normal PH right wing middle class Audi 3.0TDI A5 driver to know who to back whistle

Shoot both of them is what I say.

See, sorted.

He reminds me of a guy I met a few years ago in the Poachers pub in Chalfont St. Peter.

Big guy, used to be in the army. Had a kind face, but kind of sad at the same time.

Suffered with depression, or PTSD type illness. Wife had left him, he was drinking too much, hence met him in pub. Saw him on and off for a few weeks. Hope he is OK.

You see what you want to see.
