I agree with that - good initiative and work ethic. I applaud him for that.

Just accept the fact it wasn't the correct product and try and think of something that won't break the rules.
Bingo...

Seen this on the news today. If a school bans sweets its not rocket science to start selling contraband. Its not the work of a future businessman its just a kid thats daring to break the school rules when others wont.

I would totally agree with the drug dealer parallel. In the adult world that EXACTLY what this setup is.

Hopefully the lad can harness some entrepreneurial spirit but to laud him as the next Peter Jones is probably stretching it a bit.

Why did F1 (and this weekend's dodgy front wings) jump to my mind when I read that!?

When I was in school there was somebody doing this in every year of every school I knew of. Nothing new at all.

I used to rent old VHS porno vids at school, had a system of rental cards tracking the *usage* then moved onto trading games/machines( master system/megadrive etc ) and even started a pest control biz ha ha.

I wonder how many entrepreneurs did similar things at a young age, and hands up those without sin wink

The drugs thing is probably taking it a bit too far, but I appreciate the point being made.

When I was a kid I did a nice side line selling 3.5" floppy disks to my school mates. I got them for next to nothing from a friend who worked at a certain magazine store. Disk frequently got separated from the mag they had tons of them that used to get binned. So I bought them cheap, formatted them, new labels and sold them on.

I didn't make 14K but made enough to fund a new DIY 66mhz 486 PC at the time!
