We have 4 cats, one aged 14, two aged 5, and another aged 16 months.

The 16 month old one has never been a friendly cat, and as she matures she is getting worse.

She has, attacked our other cats numerous times. She growls and is very possessive of food, she will attack the other cats, violently, as they sleep.

She has already cost us quite a bit in vets bills, and after a discussion with our vet, we agreed that rehoming her would be the best course of action, this was not an easy decision, but we believe for the best.

This is where our real problems begin, we can't rehome her. We have tried private adverts, rehoming places, and vets.

The problem seem to be that no one wants, an adult cat, that can't live with other cats.

And the rehoming places all say they are full.

So where can we turn now?

Try cat rescue places further and further away until you get one willing to take it, and be prepared for a long drive ?

Realistically you've got two options - either that or have it put to sleep. Thats of course assuming you really have tried all the rehoming options. How about Facebook groups etc?

Would be helpful to know whereabouts in the UK you are based.

Have a look on Preloved (or the like). There are often horse yards etc. wanting a cat for rodent duties, but as said before, you need to be prepared to seek further afield and be prepared to travel.

An idea of your location would help.

Im a volunteer at a rescue in Nottinghamshire, it's crazy we take cats in every single day, so so many looking for homes and we are very busy trying to get strays off the streets for winter too...

All these facebook selling pages don't help, make it so simple for people to buy and sell kittens, sadly nobody wants the older ones...

Thanks for the advice, we are near Mansfield, Notts.

Having her put to sleep feels very extreme, as in a house without other cats, she would be fine.

We have tried, Facebook, Friday ads, Preloved.

As said above, people want cute fluffy kittens, not a problem adult.

Your vets may keep info of owners who have lost pets and who may consider taking a cat on through the vets (we do this quite a lot!!)

I wonder if any shelters might consider a swap.

Say you offer to take this guy on with his problems: (tablet pastes only at top...no idea why)

And they take on an easier to home cat.

Feel for you OP.

One of our cats does not get on with the dog. She's really reluctant to be in the house at the same time as him. Effectively now an outside cat, but I'm not sure how maintainable that is over winter.

We've tried to re-home and have hit the same problem.

Don't suppose anyone knows any tricks to get the puss to get on with the others?

I really don't think there are any tricks at that stage, we get some right sods come into rescue that are devils with other cats but lovely on their own. Its strange that a young cat is like that, usually its the older ones that are the grumpy sods!

Hi, we have hit a little problem today.

Vet thinks she is pregnant, despite having her tubes snipped.

The wife now has no idea if she want's to rehome her if she is.

So now we have an aggressive, psycho, pregnant cat.

Yeah, she'll be easy to rehome then.

More decisions will be made, when the wife decides what she wants to do.

That makes no sense? Why just snipped and not spayed. Normally cats have everything removed. Being snipped can still mean a female cat will call and end up with a pyo.

It is possible she has a womb infection now and not be pregnant a scan will confirm that.

I just realised how daft that sounds.

You are correct, I referred to it as tubes clipped, as that's what the wife had done.

It's impossible for it to fail in a cat.

I'll get a picture of her in a bit, and also contact the vet.

I think it would be difficult to keep her and the kittens as she will become even more aggressive and protective of her kittens. I take in the mothering cats and foster them in my home, and even the most placid laid back cats get aggressive if another cat approaches her kits.

A midline spay can be done and the pregnancy aborted, may sound harsh but you have experienced how difficult it is to rehome your cat, do you really want to have to find homes for 4, 5, 6, 7 kittens?
its really not as easy as you might think, even for "cute kittens"

hehe

So hard for you right now. This is never easy but I am sure something will turn up. All the best. Your vet doesn't know of anyone?
