Brundle's recent Monaco Qualy comment
Discussion
I don't know if this has been said but Toto Wolff had a dinner with Damon Hill and others on Wednesday night and told them some facts about Nico that had changed his mind about Nico being this nice guy.
No doubt that Nico did deliberately drove into the run off area at Monaco and also deliberately drove into Lewis at Spa.

As I said above, maybe I'm being too cynical about broadcasters. I didn't intend for anyone to take my comments as seriously as you seem to be!
As I said above I'm just responding to what has been said on here. Has Brundle changed his mind on the incident or is he just repeating what others have said?
Maybe read up on Brundle, especially how he risked his F1 accreditation (and therefore his job) during the McLaren/Mosley/orgy saga. He's got cojones and integrity, AFAICS.As I said above I'm just responding to what has been said on here. Has Brundle changed his mind on the incident or is he just repeating what others have said?

Nico didn't drive into Lewis at Spa but he wasn't going to let Lewis push him off the road like Austria hence Nico not giving up unfortunately it ended up in a mess a racing incident at the end of the day , Monaco i'm not so sure about but until I see proof he's not guilty. No doubt that Nico did deliberately drove into the run off area at Monaco and also deliberately drove into Lewis at Spa.
It's not like Lewis was squeaky clean all season
I didn't believe he slid off on purpose. I thought the reversing was deliberate and should have been punished.
The group I watched the Monaco qually with when MS blocked the track all knew it was deliberate. Even the Ferrari fan agreed. So the stewards' decision was just confirmation of a dirty move.
NR's driving came up for discussion after Spa and the subject of Monaco came up. I had some doubt.
I then saw a bit on YouTube with NR's two qually laps side by side. It convinced me. I've had a few discussions with my friends and we all are now of the same opinion - and it is an opinion - that the deliberate, and planned.
I was no particular fan of his but that put him beyond the pale for me.

But I do agree with you the reason why Nico did that because he wanted to reassert himself after Lewis didn't give him room at Austria. Mind you - you shouldn't put yourself on the outside of a corner.

I always thought Spa was deliberate, NR turned in, then opend the steering to avoid Lewis then took a lunge at him.
No he didn't. It could look like that in super-slo-mo, but in real speed he just turned in to the corner, had to make a very quick corrective steering change, presumably to catch a small slide, then returned to exactly the same steering angle, all within a split second. No lunging involved.teacake said:

There was a time when several very well respected teams and drivers would activate a hidden switch to dump oil on the track having just set a fast time.
