Everyone's got one, share yours here.

Mine is the Heuer Autavia with the Panda-dial, known as the Siffert due to it's connection to F1 driver and part-time Heuer Dealer Jo Siffert. There is a great story behind the Siffert-Heuer relationship which eventually ended up with the Monaco appearing in 'Le Mans'.

No idea what they sell for but one day, I hope.

For those not in the know, 'Grail watch' roughly translates to 'the watch you want above all others'.

I think most of us have a grail or grails that we see ourselves maybe owning eventually, but my one true grail, the one I'll never own, is the gold Flightmaster. Approx 200 ever made of which there were only 20 with a solid gold bracelet. They hardly ever come up for sale and I think the last one a few years back was up for offers around $36K.

Used to be PP's 5711, I've since realised that I'm too fickle to answer the question with any degree of consistency.

'Grail' targets are tricky... once you meet it... another new 'Grail' appears...
In my 20's it was the Rolex Submariner... Acheived on my 30th birthday.

Now in my 40's its this:

Naturally I do understand the whole Patek thing... but I am split... I want it... but I do not really really like the design.. it is too 70's but I do know it is an awesome Icon... Similarly... Bristol Motor Cars... I saw one on Justin Banks website.. I want it... but it is not that pretty..

Bit like some girls one meets sometimes..

biggrin That's about it in a nutshell!

My 'Grail' in some respects (the watch I'd most like to own) is a 1945 Universal Geneve - feasible a few years ago but now sadly way out of reach.

The gold Flightmaster is wonderfully obscure.

I guess there are different degrees of Grail, those that are reasonably achievable and those, like the Universal Geneve or Flightmaster, that are likely to remain out of reach.

My realistic grails have to be a Submariner or a Tudor Heritage Blue Chrono.

It's the DeepSea Challenge...but one problem with it...it's too big to actually wear.

I've 'tried' it on - it's ridiculous...it's an engineering show piece...not a watch smile

Ha, ha, ha! Maybe I should speak to Rolex as I know how to make that an awful lot slimmer and still go to the bottom of the Marianas trench without leaking. (clue - it's all to do with prestressing the glass).

That's a looker, is it a boggo 7750 ?

My Grail would be a Milsub, they were knocking them out when I was born, so therefore it would have to be a birth year Milsub. I'm guessing they're still 50-60k ? So completely unobtainable.

Get in the queue if you want one, preferably behind me.
