Just a quick heads up for anyone interested really.

A company called Tool-Time (I seem to be on their email list) sent me another mailshot this morning and it had several jewellery and watch boxes on it. The Mele walnut one on the second page is similar to mine but I paid a lot more than that for mine. frown

I don't need any but thought that someone here may.

I have no idea of the quality of finish of these items, though the price looks good on them and, unlike the Lidl tea boxes, they seem to be padded out with cushions, so should save a bit of messing around.

Usual disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the company blah blah...

I've got s black Mele one. I hadn't expected much and wasn't really looking for a watch box but at £25 delivered I couldn't say no. It's excellent for that. I'm sure if you were housing watches in the tens of thousands you wouldn't want one.

For those like me who want somewhere to keep all of your watches in one place and store the original boxes then it's ideal.

The construction is good with a nicely hinged lid. Mine has a drawer under the cushioned level that I keep straps, cuff links etc in.

Mine is finished in a Matt black so I assume that the wood isn't particularly stunning in its raw state but again, it wouldn't be so cheap if it was burr walnut.

The cushions are slightly small for the pockets but are well constructed and do the the job.

To sum up. It's not the finest piece of woodwork in the world but for the money the just isn't anything that comes close.
