Anyone with experinces of the A180 (Renault lump)??

Popped into the dealers on Saturday to look at both the CLA and the A-Class and was very impressed by both. I’m considering the A-Class for practicality and it will be a company car, the attractive thing about the A180 is the low tax bracket but what eats at me inside is its a Renault lump. Now call me a snob but if I’m driving a Mercedes I’d like that R&D Merc spend millions a year on under the bonnet not a souped up clio engine. I’ve heard that the 1.5 lump that’s in the new A-Class is very under powered and I’ll be doing quite a few motorway miles. Does anyone have this engine in their new A-Class??

I've driven one and it is pretty slow to pick up. If it were me I'd try stretching to one of the bigger ones.
