Not sure if it's just me bust there seems to be some rather annoying rattles, squeaks, clicks and clinks etc in doors and pillars and various other places.

Has anyone stripped the car down and found any problem areas where these rattles come from and any potential fixes?

Potentially a job I can do and would like to do but may be useful knowing where's good to start

Apart from that its all good, need a louder exhaust I think, that would help. biggrin

Gary H soundproofed his, and had most (if not all) of the interior out to do it.

Hi. VXR8s are generally well put together. Even with 80/100k miles they don't really suffer with trim or body squeaks and rattles. Just knocking lower suspension arms (made by Nestlé)

If it's worse than your Monaro then it might be just your particular car

Sounds like there is something loose and rattling around in the doors, potential strip down i think to investigate.

it sounds like it's something unique to yours. Probably something really silly. just hope it's nothing to do with J Clarkson fitting a commode when it was a press car biggrin

Oh, that could be it biggrin

The other thing is knocks coming from the front end when going over bumps, same happened on the 'ro, this control arms?

Has these checked a couple of weeks ago and seemed ok, perhaps top mounts could do with replacing as well...

Sometimes you can only detect wear once the Control Arm is off the vehicle; mine were replaced under Warranty but only lasted 25k miles! New ones on....beautifil now!

Mine is dead quiet.. apart from the faintest little knocking noise coming form inside the cabin around the O/S/R seat. One day I will find the bugger laugh

Mines deadly quiet to. Far betta than the Ro was although the ashtray lid has a tiny resonate vibration which I need to address with a line of felt tape inside the back.

[/quoteI always had a very annoying rattle that from rear when driving over speed bumps and lumpy roads. Almost sounded like the rear parcel shelf banging, stripped the whole boot area and couldn't find anything loose,

Was painting the rear calipers one sunny day ( yellow I might add) and found the brake lines run down the rear arch attached to the body and it rattled sort of springy feeling against body, strapped it to body with a home made bracket, and bobs your uncle no more rattle from rear, think others also had reported this too. This may help
