Yesterday evening I was leaving the office in Budapest when I spotted a Griff 500 at the traffic lights! This is the first TVR I have seen in Hungary in over 4 years. To be fair it was a LHD German registered car in a dark metallic blue with light blue and grey interior. The owner bought it new just a few months ago and absolutely loves it, he was happy to chat for a while. It is one af the last 100, I am not sure which one though.

This has cheered me up a bit, but made me even more determined to bring a wedge out here when I can afford it.

Thanks Martin, will do! As a matter of interest where do you get your 500 serviced?

Learned (payed) a lot with my Vintage-cars and know to never trust the official workshops and now I am used to get spareparts directly from UK.
I trust my babies to a certain specialist who has a masters degree and works on cars in his workshop mostly on his own.
He can handle nearly all technical troubles or knows somebody who could instead, has proud and honour in his work and is fun.
Be prepared of a shock showing him your car the first time, because he keeps telling you all details which have to be done on your car.
Its up to you telling him what you like him to do, or the better way:
Give him the key and tell him to do it all; that keeps him to the most important details and quiet.
He is worth his money and asks for much less as usual and you can be sure that there is no apprentice learning on your car and expenses.
By the way, he is quite close to the border.
Spareparts happily I get fast from TMS by parcel.
Its time to get your wedge now!
It is not as difficult as you think.
And look for a righthooker, that won´t attract the collectors in Budapest as much.

Thanks, I would love to get a wedge now but my wife insists I finish the house renovations first As usual this is costing far more than anticipated so the TVR plan has to go on hold for a year or so. I wish I had never sold the 350i I had in England!

Kevin,
There is light at the end of the tunnel!

The Switzerland/Germany/Austria TVR-Meeting is going
to be in Austria in May 2003.

There will be plenty of long dark cold days this winter,
time enough to finish your "Pußta"-Hut gyors.
