Event Tyres, a mobile fitting service, was recommended to me. I tried them out with my GTI; they did a great job so I used them when I needed tyres for my 993. Again very satisfied, good price & good service.

Totally agree - they did a great price on my pilot sport 2s and 'fine' balanced them to 0.5gram - made an amazing difference to vibration through the steering wheel - ie there is none - you won't get that at quick fit......

+1. I've used them 4 or 5 times now and always great, efficient service.

I've used 4 of the 5 mentioned (not used Pit Stop). No issues with any of them.

Seconded.

I always used Alba tyres when I lived the student life in Headingley and they never failed to be anything but good.
Thirded. Headlingley Abla are fantastic. I was less impressed with the horsforth branch though, so still with the Headingley one.

I live in Sweden, but I am returning to Yorkshire for Christmas - driving from here to Rotterdam and then taking North Sea Ferries to Hull. I have just had to change my Land Rover Freelander II wheels over before 1st December so it has the statutory "winter tyres" they need here. I was aware that my tyres were getting close to the 3mm legal limit here, and planned to replace them in Yorkshire, as I guessed they would be cheaper. I phoned around and they are indeed cheaper - about 30% cheaper. Great - I thought! Then I checked my tyres just before swapping the wheels and one tyre is just a tad below the 3mm limit. I realised I daren't risk it, so I swapped them here - and paid an axtra 250 quid for the privilege.

I like Sweden, but the country really does need to open up to a bit more competition because the prices of some things here is significantly higher, especially when it comes to motoring!
