6 more sigs AFTER you have taken your novice cross off.
ie 12 trouble free races after you have your licence.

I know we've been through this before Andy, but then explain this to me. Clearly states 6, 12 for Juniors, no reference to initial 6 novice races anywhere. It even states that a Marshalling Day signature qualifies for 1, which you would normally do early days when starting racing (as I did). No other exceptions for upgrading Nat B to Nat A that I can see.ie 12 trouble free races after you have your licence.

well its difficult for me to say anything different had 6 + about 15 so I just sent off for it.
Cant see the logic of B-A if A = same as B in the first place.
They told me...
Pass Test = B on provisonal = Nov Cross
+6 sigs = B = cross off
+6 sigs = A if requested.
But if Dave got his just by taking his novice cross off....try it.

I used Motor Racing Medics this year. It proved extremely difficult to arrange a medical with my own GP - I couldn't get a 'private' appointment within the 6 weeks I'd allowed before first test. In contrast to that my old GP was able give me a same day appointment, but concluded when I arrived that he couldn't do it without access to my notes. So that was a waste of time. I tried Nuffield and BUPA but couldn't get any sense out of them (despite having had a full medical with Nuffield the week before which covered pretty much all the aspects of the MSA test except colour blindness).
That left me in a bit of a fix - I tried Motor Racing Medics and they sorted it out very quickly and efficiently with no hassle whatsoever. Highly recommended.
I have used Motor Racing Medics several times over the years but I just felt that it was very expensive for what you actually got, but it was convenient to get it done at the Autosport Show. That left me in a bit of a fix - I tried Motor Racing Medics and they sorted it out very quickly and efficiently with no hassle whatsoever. This year I arranged a medical with BUPA. It cost about £20 more but i had a full personal MoT which lasted about 1.5 hours rather than 5 minutes. I left feeling that I had had a proper full medical and that the medical staff had a good knowledge of my health. They were not just signing off a licence form, they were assessing my general medical condition. I will use BUPA again and u really think it was good value for money.
No mention of any "provisional" status on a race licence in the blue book. The cross is merely to warn other drivers of your "novice" status, meaning new and possibly green to race conditions. The cross has no relevance to the actual race licence as far as I can tell. I'll call the MSA and ask for absolute clarification, as I may well still need a signature or two yet.

I need my HGV medical too, so im going to try the local place that does that on a sat morning first.
although i see the lot below will combine hgv and racing.
over 45 is it a resting ecg for national licence and stress for international.
Tim the medical last for 12 months so as long as you remember to renew within the 12 months your ok. doing the medical in jan doesnt give you much leaway to remember lol,but as andy says you can renew for following year in dec probably nov when the renewals come out

The prices quoted are shocking! £120+VAT for an HGV medical? I paid £30! Id expect the same doctor to charge £30 for an MSA medical too.although i see the lot below will combine hgv and racing.

My father gave his GP a bottle of brandy every year, and Im not sure that he actually asked for that.
