I quite fancy having my bike professionally done... has anyone round here done it? Google isn't helping.

This is your man, he is in Newbury so just up the M4, if you have 2 or 3 mates he will come across to you I suspect, have used him a couple of times, very very good.

Theres
http://allyearbiker.co.uk/ but they seem to have a big space between Wells and Worcestor as far as operators are concerned.
Riders in Bristol do it as part of a winter storage package so might do it as a stand alone thing though probably not cheap.
Or watch some vids and do it yourself.

I did find both of the above but was hoping for somewhere a bit closer.

I'm booked in at AllYearBiker to have my bike done next Saturday. Wells isn't far from Bristol.

They clean the bike and spray the stuff at a higher pressure than from a can (using an air compressor), so it vaporises better and gets into all the nooks and crannies.
You could do it yourself though - it will vaporise OK from the pump can you get free with the 1L bottle if you warm the liquid up before applying.

Hornetrider , that's just lazy! It's easy enough to do at home.
How's your BMW tourer getting on? Haven't seen any updates since you bought it.

It is lazy isn't it hehe

I was overawed by the application guns on youtube but fk it I'll just jetwash the blancmange and get some cans of the stuff off ebay.

Thanks for asking about the bike. I love it! Weather and wind protection is absolutely immense, and the range is the real key thing for me. I'm getting 230 to the fuel light and there's still 4/5 litres left in it when it comes on, which is a potential range of around 275 at about 50mpg. Given my commute is 47 miles each way that means I'm only filling up Monday morning and Wednesday lunchtime. Brilliant.

I've just bought a can of the stuff in aerosol form too.

From what i've been told/seen on you tube, you literally just spray it on (after cleaning the bike) and leave it - no buffing required?

The destructions on the tin say to smear it around with a rag if you feel the need to, but that this isn't completely necessary. Will give it a go at the weekend and see how I get on I guess....

Never even new such a man existed smile. I bought my gsxr 1000 a year ago with 3000 miles on it. It was like brand new without a tarnished nut on the thing, it now has 4000 miles and I have never washed it due to being to busy ( lazy) rolleyes

It now sits in the garage as a dirty ornament replaced with an mv brutale I bought last month, I will get this man booked but probably not before Christmas as I am to lazy ( busy ) smile

Incidentally I used to be OCD with my vehicles to the extent it stopped me using them because of the time and effort involved in keeping them pristine, as time moves on and the years pass like months I seem to have lost the will and time to keep on top of stuff drink

ACF50 is easy enough. Heat the can up in the airing cupboard or a bucket of hot water before spraying and it'll go on fine.
It gets everywhere though, so watch out for run onto brakes and friction surfaces.
It'll smoke like a bugger when you get the bike running and things heat up. Nothing to worry about.
