This is the very last time I will post this. I use Muc Off as I do get pad debris and then jet wash off after a few mins. Had the car 3 years and AFAIK all is well. Pads changed a couple of months ago and the grease monkey who did the job didn't suggest the discs were shagged HTH

Jet wash is a bad idea. If pressurized water contacts the discs it can strip off the pad transfer layer. The CCM discs don't take kindly to water soaking in or penetrating the matrix.

of course you are correct, the membership now regards your warning and chemicals in cleaning routine as being bad for ccm health. Just ignore the one fella that will no doubt pop up like bad smell and accuse you of scaremongering and offering nothing productive to the forum

Really? Brake discs that are allergic to water. Are you serious?

the discs saturated in low pressure water is no concern if left to dry out. The concern is saturated discs used hard and the small dust created generates a sort of grinding paste with water which removes surface layer. Whenever a complaint is made about ccm, normally the first dealer action is to re run a bed in cycle to try and reestablish surface layer

Not even worth responding to....once again you have added a snide comment and ruined the post in an attempt to start a senseless argument.....tosser

Morning Peeps. Bit late in as been Black Fridaying. Just to put everyone's mind at rest I only use Muc Off on the wheels, likewise the jet wash. Not the CCM's thumbup

Curtis and Elton type is good, but me thinks Marks and Gran apply here. Fletcher-Dervish most likely suffered gas exchange issues too, but the role model was clearly Alan (hero, RIP). Just like the show, when a Fletcher-Dervish type attempts to be an Alan, its cringe worthy. The world loves a B'Stard!

So after reading all the reply s, i think washing the wheels carefully with a gentle car shampoo hopefully without soaking the disc should be ok?.
Then leaving the disc to dry as much as possible with out using, say putting in the garage over night should be the best way.
Would you say BM ? TIA.

yes to use of gentle shampoo and low pressure water. drenching is ok, but probably best to let dry out before hard use. Little water / damp disc and use is likely fine, the message has never been dont get it wet and then dont drive, but dont drench it (especially with chemical cleaner) and drive.
