Not had a bike for a while but am having a real desire for a Guzzi
Am I mad?
No, even the underpowered ones are fun.
Is everything still available for the likes of the V50?

Here's my '75 Z1B touring in the South of France (two up, camping) sometime in July '84!

The wall has grown an addition but I reckon this is me by the same sign and piece of road in 92 or 93.

Great thread , enjoying all these fantastic bikes and pictures.

Brill!! I see the tradition of photographing your thumb was adhered too as well; bravo!!!

Yup FLF, Ian Dyson version didn't have the details moulded in the flanks like and FLF; not much in it though.
I still have Granby's black and white catalogue from that era; some real comedy stuff back then.

As an aside, 17 year old lads used to order brand new RD250's with a Dyson kit, and they'd have everything on tick, helmet, gloves, jacket, even insurance; all they wanted to know was 'how much a week mister'
What a lot of Dyson kitted new bike buyers didn't realise, was that the brand new tank would often be taken off underneath, and a dented/scuffed insurance job one substituted! It couldn't happen now I guess...

I always wanted one of them, so I now have two. Same (and best) colour scheme, too.
Funny you say that I always wanted a yellow one which I did get some years later but by that time I was too tall for it so ended up selling it a few years ago. I notice there's a thread about how small some of the old cars are compared to moderns, the same could be said of a lot of motorbikes.

Here's my little AT3 (dt125, 1974)
My father in law found it for £100, in a barn, covered in horse crap. I fully rebuilt it, including full engine rebuild with new wiseco piston for about £400 all in. I can honestly say its the most fun bike i've ever ridden, makes you want to ride like a goon! Got a lead on a 175 engine recntly, so it could soon be reaching the dizzying heights of 16bhp!
Now has the cables tidied and the original headlight fitted.

Had this last year too, but only kept it for a season, nice to ride and sounded well too with the 4 original pipes, but just a bit soul less, despite trying to spice it up with a new cam!

The day I got my 78 SS900 Desmo, with my dog Bonny wondering where she would sit. Soon fitted stainless Conti replicas and gave it a mild cosmetic resto. Always ran fine, owned it 20 years, the one bike I regret selling..

Really?

Most modern bikes I've tried have the same or less space than my T140. The only modern bikes built to adult sizes are tourers& things like our GSX14s. Sports bikes seem to be the size of 125s.

Love that, really clean lines , looks along the same style as the "bobber" many people are building bikes to.

Thanks, its not exactly stock, more built to a certain style and budget, which seems to work.
Needed a seat, so i made one, didn't have any mudguards so just modded a universal ally rear to fit. Stripped the wheels, had the original spokes re-zinc'ed and powder coated the rims. De-rusted the tank and laquered it.
Got a mate who's an electroplater, so that saved a heap of cash tarting up all of the old fasteners etc.
