Anyone running any top speed events?

Just charged my m3 up to 550 bhp and would be nice to see what it can run.

Just hire Bruntingthorpe for an hour. £60.

How do you get on a vmax event.

Might actually look into hiring a location as I'm sure I can get a bunch of us.

Do elvington have such days? Bruntingthorpe other than vmax.

or a run what you brung day at Santa Pod to get you standing quarter mile time.

not top speed but still should be a good way of seeing how much more oomph you have

Yep, but you have to book 2 hours (IIRC?) and you're meant to have liability insurance really but they sometimes let you away with it

I know at least a couple of people who'd be interested too - so even if it's significantly more than £60 p/h, it might be worthwhile.

I can probably also get hold of some GPS timing gear so we can get the data without having to stare at the speedo (which you won't be doing at 160+ mph, believe me!).

Get in contact with the guys at Straightliners,

They run flyers at Elvington on a regular basis , with proper timing gear and medical attendance.

Some of the bikes are running in excess of 260 and a couple of cars passing 200, GTR 's I believe.
