Hi All,

I recently managed to rip the boot release lever from the steering column cowl on my S1.5 (doh!), so I'm thinking of fitting an electrically operated release solenoid as a replacement.

Has anyone done similar recently and could recommend parts or a kit? Any fiting tips would also be very welcome.

Cheers

Here's a soleniod, the rest you'll have to cobble together with bits 'n bobs just like TVR did wink

Bit of help here, probably plenty more with a bit of searching.

The switch on mine is a little square thing, RS components I think, but any push/non latching switch would obviously do

Thanks for the pointers Mike.

I'm now wondering if/how I can hook this into the alarm system so the little 'boot open' button on my fob actually works!

Why not leave the existing boot catch in place and install the solenoid on the end of the cable somewhere?
Alternatively shorten it and put a mechanical pull latch in a hidden location - you get the idea.

When I changed mine, my research found it was the saeae solenoid as fitted to a VW Golf door - may be of use...
