Ok, so its never been great for traffic, but in the last ~3-4 weeks the traffic at the MercBenz garage on the Ascot road in Bracknell has gone crazy. Basically, if im there any later that 7am I can expect the traffic to queue all the way to BEFORE the Martin’s Heron train bridge. This morning it was backed up all the way to Savernake Park!
And to rub salt in the knife wound, you get bellends at Martins Heron thinking they are clever by racing up “Harry Potter’s” road and coming out halfway up the traffic jam.

Anyone know whats causing this? Has the light sequence changed further down at the crossroads for Swinley Road? Or is there diversions elsewhere in Bracknell that is pushing more traffic that way?

I can see this is only going to get worse if the rumours are true and they change the Coral reef roundabout to traffic lights (which is a retarded idea of epic proportions) as that will likely push more traffic via the Ascot route.

fffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuu cant wait for the kids to break from school for Xmas so it releases a bit of traffic volume...

It's more the m3 roadworks that are causing massive problems every day now for last few weeks

Which ever bright spark that was over paid to make the decision to traffic light coral reef in the future needs shooting

I couldn't agree more about the planned waste of money at Coral Reef. When there is, as there inevitably will be, an accident here it is sure to be a big one with traffic on the A329 arriving at 70 m.p.h. Absolutely stupid idea.shoot
Then they want to put lights on the roundabout by the Golden Retriever and a few more as well - F*****g stupid!! You have a roundabout or you have lights, not both. The only time in the last year that the Twin Bridges roundabout didn't have a queue in the rush hour was the day the lights broke down!
Traffic generally in this area seems to have risen hugely in the last few weeks. I go from Sandhurst to Bracknell 3 days a week for work and it seems to take me at least 45 minutes now - it's only 7 miles FFS. Record so far is 75 minutes - it didn't take that long when they had single-lane operation on the A3095 to build the new roundabout for Broadmoor.mad
I hope I can win the lottery soon so I can stop work and never have to go to Bracknell again! Hateful place for car owners.

I live and work in Bracknell and certain area's are getting bad with regards to traffic but never noticed it to be that bad. Which way do you go? I know that due to the redevelopment around the town centre some roads are closed and therefore traffic forced a certain route which doesn't help. I thought the redesign of the twin bridges has helped traffic flow?

A few new companies have opened up near Amen Corner which might have added to the traffic flow recently.

No idea why they want to put in traffic lights on the Coral Reef roundabout or Golden Retriever one. They work fine as is. Yes slightly busier at peak times but nothing people using indicators and lane discipline wouldn't solve.

Bracknell has always been terrible (I live here) but they are making it so much worse. The only thing that needed 'fixing' around Coral Reef was the road surface on the CR exit as when it rains its pretty slippery.

I have lived in Bracknell Forest for nearly 10 years now and I think one of the problems IS the Forest - why they couldn't have dualled the A3095 when they built the new roundabout is completely beyond me. It is dual-carriageway at the A30 end and from South Hill Road into the town but the stretch in between is obviously a bottleneck.
It's not like they would have had to remove trees and upset the tree-huggers as most of them got burnt back in 2010!
Incidentally my understanding is not that they are putting lights on the Coral Reef roundabout, they are removing the roundabout and replacing it with lights which will effectively reduce the flow at the junction for the period that all directions are on red. This will also allow us to create more CO2 off-peak while we sit at red lights when there is no traffic! rolleyes
I can only guess that if they had someone on the Council with any brain cells they must have left!!ranting
