Tamora handbreak surround
Discussion
You can yes, but it's not a simple job.
These are the parts that make up the surround:
I glass fibred the bolts to the underside of the transmission tunnel, and had to open up the oval hole a lot more for the aluminium surround to fit correctly.
I did a really crap job with mine, but as I was having a complete re-trim anyway, it didn't matter so much...

thanks Chris.
Any other mods you undertook whilst changing the interior?
I maybe bashed for this but I fancy heated seats, generally because I find the extra heat through my back helps an old sports injury ;-).
Nothing wrong with heated seats - always have them on when in the wife's Mini!Any other mods you undertook whilst changing the interior?

The only 'mods' were the Momo Trek R wheel, a carbon fibre pedal plate and new pop up screen head unit, sat nav, reverse camera and DAB - the rest was just a case of replacing old with new (and getting rid of that hideous Bison fake leather)

Can I ask where you got your steering wheel boss from. The one I got sent doesn't fit the Tam.
If that's aimed at me, the original boss was used as far as I know - the trimmers changed the wheel for me. (I only supplied the wheel)Thanks

You can drill and tap the std boss or fit a bolt on adaptor but that moves the steering wheel forward about 15mm. You can find them on ebay for about £30Don't suppose you have a link, I can't seem to find one with a hex bolt.

I rather like the aluminium handbreak section on the mk2 Tamoras. Can this be retro fitted to mk1s?
One available on ebay at the moment..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-handbrake-surround-N...Paul
