The lap timers listed on eBay for bikes are a fraction of the price of the lap timers for cars but must do the same job. They don't connect to any of the electrics or mechanics of the vehicle so are simply receiving an infra red signal. I wouldn't have thought is would matter if the vehicle was a car, a bike or a skate board?

I used one of these this season. Wouldnt work at Rockingham because of the distance but worked fine everywhere else. I found the display is a bit small though and difficult to see when just giving it a quick glance

Motorbike lap timers are calibrated for two wheels - you'll just need to double the values to get the accurate times for your car.

Why do you need to do anything if it is Infra Red Beam, number of wheels will not make any difference surely.
