This has been for sale for a while. I wonder why. Maybe it isn't quite so nice as it looks in the pictures, or perhaps the LPG kit is putting people off.

I think you would need a few brave pills before buying an old jag V12 running on LPG.

I have never been that keen on these Series I TWR XJRs. The bodykit is just a bit too much. This one is very, very red. I normally like Signal red on the XJ40, but this does seem really very red indeed.

Edited to add:

I think Harry Flashman has won me over; I've been too hasty! I've pictured myself in it and decided it bally marvellous! hehe

That is utterly awesome. I would drive it everywhere whilst wearing pinstripe double breasted suit and red braces.

Win.

I wouldn't say all V70s are rubbish though! ...first-gen V70... Cracking car.
Following the PH mantra of buy on condition, my first taste of Volvo ownership, a modest 2.5T.

There's too many sensible nice cars in this thread.

What you all really want is one of these

Actually nearly bought one of these once - for the lolz as the kids would say. Insurance was more than for a 2.8 capri.

Not really a difficult choice.

I'm sure it's terrible.

Can't quite believe it's an 89. I remember lusting after these as a schoolboy. Getting old.

£900! With no MOT that's only worth scrap value.

No, no mot but i thought it sounded better than most. These don't seem to age well if not cosseted.

The Mk1 Mondeo brought fine handling to the common (family) man. It's a sure fire future classic.
I'd argue the Peugeot 405 did that, but people apparently weren't that interested in the late 80's.

I'd say the Primera P10 had a part as well - all 3 of the aforementioned were great steers

Time is a strange thing. It robs some cars of their desirability, yet it gives to others. I remember these Toyota SuperSaloons as being embarrassing bits of tat in their day - yet I now find it strangely attractive.
Me too!

It's a beige Fiesta with unspecified engine. Noisy, slow and not great handling.

Struggling to see the attraction.
And someone's put the steering wheel in on the wrong side.

True, I keep forgetting the Primera. I think that's been it's problem in general all along ...

I like the old XJ but that is just horrible. Colour and bodykit make it hideous to my eyes.

I don't know if there's any truth to it but I was once told that Ford copied the suspension setup of the Primera for the Mondeo because it handled so well.

Either way the Primera drove very well. I had an SRI that wasn't very quick but it was great in the corners.
