Classic (old, retro) cars for sale £0-5k
Discussion
A bit retro when they first came out. I rather like them and this is the 3 litre version. Old photos though.

What you're saying is that it's not slow when compared to slower cars. You can't rule out half the options that you could have bought at the time that do the same job for the same money. You can't just ignore performance models just bexause they're designed to be fast.
I said it wasn't slow compared to it's contemporaries. I don't consider the cars you listed to be in that category. Yes a Belmont Sri with a 2 litre 130 bhp lump probably was faster, because it weighed less, because it had a shed load less sound deadening. Why did it have less sound deadening than a BMW? Because it's the saloon version of a hot hatch, not a compact premium saloon. Regardless of the company tag line, SE spec BMWs have never been sporty, hot hatch rivals. Even the 325i wasn't, with soft suspension, a refined ride and slow steering. The 318iS is about as close as the 3 Series came to rivaling a car like the Jetty/Golf GTI.Whilst you kids argue about if an E30 320 is slow or not (it was, just saying )... Could I post a contender for rarest car of the thread?

Fine looking Jaaaaaaaaaag! Call me a pedant, however, but when I see something like "Matalita steering wheel" in an advert I wonder about the seller's enthusiasm. I mean, it says Moto Lita on the actual steering wheel! How hard can it be? Hey ho, at least this is better than the ads you occasionally see for a "Jenson", and I remind myself that approx 147% of people who post in PH think that cars are stopped by things called "breaks".
Is that the ones they just "brought"Fast Bug said:

That's a candidate for "Cars you didn't know existed" thread.www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C551155
Never heard of it before.
Not really a looker for a coachbuilders special.

That steering wheel wouldn't look out of place in a bus. Bloody horrible.dbdb said:
I think the 320i probably felt a bit slow partly through expectation and partly because it was such a smooth engine which didn't develop a lot of torque low down. I suspect that it is one of those cars which has surprisingly good performance if it is thrashed.
Believe me it doesn't matter how much you thrash it, its still a slow car. I had a 320i Baur Cab, lovely thing to bimble around in with the roof off, but it really was a thirsty old thing and pressing the the throttle only exaggerated this fact with not discernible performance gain.Breadvan72 said:

I was slightly more perturbed that it seems to have the dashboard of a blue MGB - at least on the photos!Devil2575 said:

You said no it isn't.
Now you're listing a whole bunch of reasons why it's a slow car.

I know others amongst you have already drooled and commented, but this deserves another look. Lovely. Absolutely lovely. I can even forgive the DIY gears.

If that's the correct price then i will sell a kidney to buy it tomorrow...More than likely a mis-print, or scam as has been mentioned already
It's been removed from car and classic however it's doing the rounds on other free ad sites like Here
