Had a similar sick feeling myself recently when I scuffed my own roof (Chimaera) so I went onto TMS website (www.tmstvr.co.uk) as these don't look to hard to fit. I can't remember the price, but do remember thinking that I could afford it and their search engine has blown up at the moment. I dn't think it was any more than £400.

p.s. Pete, try a camping shop, you can probabaly get a small canvas repair patch which you can place on the inside if the hole is only small? Rich...

Managed to pull the stitching around my rear window a couple of months ago - I was told that a complete new hood would cost in excess of £600 as you will need to replace the rear section and the targa panel to get a good match (but this was based on a 10yr old car with a faded hood colour)

So....I stitched it back up with some heavy duty thread used in tent canvas and thoroughly caked it in fabsil. seems to be holding up ok....

I would suggest that you stitch it back up and look to save for a complete new hood at some point in the future.

Andy.

Don't ask me how but I once stuck an umbrella point through the hood of a BMW convertible! I was able to cajole the fibres back into their rough place and put a smear of superglue on the inside. Held perfectly and nearly invisible.

-sharp brolly or thin roof? From the inside out or vice versa?

I can't really remember... I was standing next to said vehicle with furled golfing brolly and can only assume I had a John Cleese moment, or was demonstrating how to bayonet a Jerry... anyway the end went a little further than planned. It wasn't my car (bad), it was my then-girlfriend's (very bad) but I had paid for most of it (phew). Conclusion: buying a car for your girlfriend is even dafter than sticking a brolly through it.

Try Martrim, www.martrim.co.uk, they have quoted me about £350 for a replacement.
