Advice on a mk6 ford fiesta s
Discussion
Dear all,
I'm currently in a bit of a quandary. I'm considering purchasing a fiesta s to replace what is increasingly appearing to be a borked astra 1.7 cdti, however I'm after some real world advice. My commute is a 60 mile round trip daily, covering country back roads. As a result I encounter tractors, lorries and slow moving morons on a daily basis. For this reason I need the car to have a bit of 'umph', but also ideally a not too shabby mpg. The fiesta is quoted as doing 44 to the gallon on a combined cycle, can anyone please advise me as to what a real world figure would be please? Also any advice about the s fiestas would be most welcome!
Thanks in advance!

On the petrol real world will be low-mid 30's realistically.
If you want a car with oomph get the diesel. I used to have one and the small turbo is a bit on and off so you get a good shove to overtake (just not much afterwards lol)
I used to average mid-late 50's on a busy Dual carriageway run so you should easily around 50mpg. You can quite happily chug them in 5th at 40 all day, they have a solid flywheel so no DMF. The only main weakness are the injectors/seals, but this is obvious from poor running if you are looking at them
