My Impreza has a turbo back 3" Milltek as part of its stage one performance pack but the volume of the exhaust is getting tiresome on long trips now. I'd like some ideas on quietening it down while not affecting the performace or the specific map and certainly not replacing it all.

My first thought is to pop down to the local power flow garage and try a few out but do you know of any quieter silencers that will fit correctly to a Milltek centre section?

The centre pipe is a resonated already so it seems the backbox is the first option.

Let me know.

I had a 3inch Miltek on and if I remember correctly, my Afterburner connected to the centre section ok (it was the Raptor with the 3 inch pipe). I doubt however you will get a quieter backbox that is 3inch bore pipe work.

In fact, the more I think about it, you may need some ear defenders wink

The Miltek is not loud for a 3inch system...

As above, try some ear plugs, the Millteks aren't loud.

Or put a 2.5 inch system on and get it remapped. You don't need a big bore system at that level.

I'll buy a nice old 530i. Cheaper than a new system and added comfort smile Cheers all.

Mine has the full 3" turbo back Miltek fitted.
I fitted a new head unit, speakers all round and a sub, when i don't want to hear the exhaust i turn the sounds up.
I don't find it as loud as the Magnex system that was on my old blob unless i'm using the full rev range, though everyone is different.
Are there not other back boxes from miltek you could bolt on with an extra baffle or two!

With it being tuned to Stage 1 any restriction in the system might cause issues though they could be negligable.
