Learning Italian with babbel

NB: I did have a quick search but was just confronted with Liverpool FC threads...presumably Ryan Babel related

Off to Italy with the family in September - parents, sister, brother in law and woman who will be wifey by then.

I have decided that I don't like fumbling my way through these things with crummy language skills - and as such will be getting cracking with some Italian in the near future.

I have come across Babbel on the internet - is this:

a). A decent resource
b). Usable in isolation
c). Better in tandem with Rosetta Stone or similar
d). other

Any advice/experiences would be gratefully received.

Have a look at duolingo. A bit like rosetta but free and available for mobile devices too.
