hi everyone I am after some advice on an engine swap. I currently own a 1991 peugeot 205 1.0 xe with a sunroof and have found another newer 205 1995 1.8d whose engine mounts are slightly different, as I am after reshelling the xe 1.0 into the 1.8d to use for road rallying so i can put in a roll cage. I am wondering will the 1.8d accommodate the 1.0 xe engines mounts with out a problem does anyone have any experience of these engines and mounts or any advice on how to mount the 1.0 engine into the 1.8d

the xe engine looks like this

and the 1.8 d looks like this

the mountings to the left are a bit different and I am not sure about any of the mounting at the back of the engines as they are not visible but any help and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks jack.

It WILL. Fit as the shell is the same but you may need to do some fabrication. It looks to me that it would be a matter of swapping the mounts off the engine to the shell. I expect you would need to swap the engine loom from the fuse board and probably the fuel tank.

Miles at pug racing will know the answers and does 205 engine swaps for people.

I would line both cars up against each other and start swapping bits and label everything.

It should be pretty simple really.
