Anyone else get caught out by the camera van on the a556 westbound just before bucklow hill tonight?
There's a temporary 40mph limit and in autopilot on the commute home I sailed past at 50, I'm sure the NIP will be along soon. Gutted

That's the reason why I posted my previous thread.

I propose a I got caught in a temp 40 zone, that's been in place for about a week ( while they build a new road ) but are only doing work in field, no place near or on the road so zero reason to have a temp speed limit at the moment anyway group hug.

See you at the speed awareness course :-)

Can't see how these locations are safety related. They don't need to enforce outside working hours. Roadworks until spring 2017 eek

Saw it a bit too late, just hope it was short range rather than taking pictures over a long distance. Had just pulled back in to let mr 1 series behind me past, he went blasting past!

Saw three police cars shortly after it, is it definitely for speeding, or tax / insurance / mot?

Nothing there this morning, Well not when I came past.

I don’t think the legislation exists to allow variable limits depending on the time of day. – How would the changes be signed? – It would probably lead to even more confusion. (I understand what you mean about enforcement)

20 mph zones at schools "when lights flash" would be an easy model to copy, and familiar enough that drivers would know what it meant.

Or as we agree; the limit is 40 and put an official sign below saying "not enforced 7pm - 6am".
