good way to secure a semi fixed track ideas?

i have a layout on a plywood 8x4 which im not using enough as its too big to man handle around the house so im thinking of halving the board and that way just a couple of bits of track to put back together but im not sure on the best way to secure the track for transportation. looked at the fixing clips you can buy but i presume they are a rigid fit with no give to piece the few track bits back together when in use so any ideas?

My track is mounted to 4 interlocking boards that fit in a hot hatch for transportation, is that what you are aiming for? Photos are in this thread from a couple of weeks ago.
