Best smoker barges 1-5 large [vol8]
Discussion
The price of this Honda Legend keeps falling, was 7500 then 6750, closing in one thread budget. Very tempted to go and have a look, although I really ought to wait to resolve my job situation before committing to any changes. My poor E39 is seeing so little use at the moment it's becoming very hard to justify.

Richard - all that in 4 years?
I'm a big fan of your work.
Indeed! That's some top barging Richard! I'm a big fan of your work.
I remember the Carat by Duchatelet Mercedes conversions. I'm sure they used to advertise them in Car magazine. I remember them as being drastically expensive! Even the steering wheel was hundreds of quid! Is it an Ital Volante?
Which one is your all-round favourite? Do you have one, or do they impress in different ways?

These are vastly underrated cars. I really like them. The interior is a beautiful place to sit.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...

Do these still have the same gearbox issue as the older A8 V8s? It looks like a very smart car for £4k and will go rather well too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A8-4-2-QUATTRO-AUTO...
The D3 has aged very well, still look good today. An classy vehicle, with a decent engine under the bonnet in this case.I am a little worried about the tech-fest under the bonnet on these. Age will not be kind, with fault codes reading like an build document.

We ought to ask all sorts of questions of detail and see if we can turn the thread Flemke-esque!
I think my favorite was the LWB Daimler Six - I really only sold it as i became way to precious about it.As mentioned, i use them as daily drivers, and as such they are subject to transporting my 3yo and 6yo to or from School and other such mundane stuff.
I got to the point where i couldn't bare having anyone other than myself in the car. And it wasn't practical to have it as a second car because i already had a toy (i think at the time it was an E30 325i Motortsport Edition Convertible) that was even less practical to use.
Whilst Jaguar/Daimler XJ's are my favorites - I really wish i had owned a W126 SEL

Finally picked one up.
Boston Green '98 Evo Cabrio. 59,000m, years MOT, fresh out of an Insp II and New Vanos unit. (£1300 bill from Dr Vanos! )
Got a random email from a guy that really wanted the CLK and wanted to do a deal with his M3.
Bad point??
It was Cat C in 2000. Otherwise its a 8-10k car at a dealer. I've looked around it, underneath it, its been through BMW numerous times, previous owner had it through ML pre-purchase insp + there's not a spot of rust on it. So im satisfied I wont die in it. I did OK price wise IMO so I dont think i'll loose money if I can keep the mileage down + im going to try and track down some more history for the car.
ETA: its fricking awesome btw. love it.

I'm so glad mine doesn't have that wood, that's pretty nasty and would have to go straight in the bin. (along with those rear lenses). Silly price. Spent last evening sealing my headlight lenses, going to have bathroom silicone on my fingers all sodding week now.

It's the car that Edo spotted down near Southampton in the last volume of the thread. It starts at around August 5th.
It was my best friend who ended up and it was for about that sort of money IIRC?
Anyway, we might remember it turned out to be quite 'doggy' in the flesh despite its mileage and the vendor's description. Personally, despite the long trip, for that sort of money my friend should have just walked away. But he didn't and bought it anyway.
He's then had to spend quite a lot of money on top....new decent tyres, brakes, sorting the Aircon, camshaft sensor, etc. He's also had a lot of paintwork done to rectify what was not volunteered by the previous vendor. I haven't seen it since but it might be nearly the whole car! So, rightly or wrongly he's now ended up spending much more than he's asking.
The car certainly goes well given that he and another friend drove from Shropshire to Malaga and back...non-stop both ways!

I like these too, but the numbers aren't great - compared with say, a 2005 Jag S-type 4.2, it's £500 tax, no better on fuel, over a second slower 0-60, no V8, almost certainly more reliable but...hmm.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...
Don't suppose GSF has much in the way of bits for a rarity like this, do they?

Certainly a lot more of an occasion car over the AMG. Im running to work and back in a Focus these days so it makes sense.

Good answer. Stunning cars and yours was in the best colour (IMO). Quite rare the Daimler Six I gather. As mentioned, i use them as daily drivers, and as such they are subject to transporting my 3yo and 6yo to or from School and other such mundane stuff.
