At least you picked it up. Looks perty though, don't it...?

I sometimes think that some of my posts are on an 'ignore' button for all the response there is. <Feeling sorry for myself>
Never heard of you Allan!
I've just emailed you about one of your posts! Possibly your worst ever! laughlaughlaugh

Yes I got it - please post a public warning. Don't worry, I deserve it!

I like your posts but don't always respond. Carry on.

On the hunt for a r129, as expected all the cheap 500sl's have disappeared as soon as I start looking, few decent 300's but all seem to be quite strong money, so any suggestions/spots welcome! I'm coming round to the idea of the 300 as I think it may suit the car, I have the e55 if I feel the urge to 'go fast.'

My parents have had one for the last 15 years. Superb engine and mid range thrust, complete lack of steering feel though. Nice comfy interior though, and nothing has been needed in that time apart from regular servicing.

Smoke silver 300-24. What a lovely family smoker. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C580479#

L

I really like that, and it would be my perfect w124 if it were to be fitted with the later 3.2 engine

I know I'm not the first to say it, but that is awful. Fit for a bonfire, and not much else.
I rarely swear on PH, but that's st.
I may get flamed for this, but I agree with Harry - this is a poor effort, but it does benefit the proportions of the car, and well judged blister arches may do the same and look ok. I'm all for originality, but the C140 does take some effort (and the right colour) to love.
Koenig did do a wide arch special of the C140. Not sure its much better;

Cross posted, but I thought this may be of interest. Twelve cylinders and within budget:

A mate of mine had a white 230 saloon with this colour interior - I found it a bit miserable. It got rusty and he sold it to a neighbour to take banger racing... did rather well I heard.

Golly, that's nice. Tremendous scope for the bork, I suspect.

Without any objects to provide a reference as to size, that considerably lightens the C140 - and this is from someone who dislikes C126 wide-body cars. It particularly benefits the front end - the headlights no longer look 2 sizes too large.

Shall I hand my thread membership card in......

The 8 series looks so much better without the bulky sport bumper IMHO. Looks more wedge like in profile and is probably better for ground clearance to boot

Old Colonel gets some stick on here about pricing but he had an E91 330i with Birds suspension fitted and I thought it was very realistically priced compared to other E91s out there.
My problem isn't his pricing. It's the lack of honesty in his descriptions. In my case, "excellent rust free example" meant rusty arches. And don't get Flangio started on tales of imaginary service history...
Ah. That explains it then.
