You'd need to be very brave considering the somewhat worrying surroundings, lack of MOT, and filthy interior, but it's the cheapest W12 I've seen by quite a long way
That plus the tone of the ad and the slightly ominous username of the seller... I wouldn't.

This car is local to me, and a stunner, 1 lady owner. The local garage is selling and they are a bunch of rip off merchants so i hate to think what cut they will be taking.

I am tempted, but not really in the market for a 2 door. But for someone would be a really good buy!

Agreed, even at half the asking price you'd have to jump in accepting that you may end up having to break it.

A colleague who is an enthusiastic DIY-er has just returned my SL after replacing the exhaust. On discovering that the MB kit is over £1000, he decided to fabricate.

He tells me that what is now fitted came from old stock destined for a Citroen, a Peugeot 508, and a Granada 2.8i. He has cut and welded and fit and bolted to the original fitting points, and I now have a new exhaust.

Cost? 140 GBP. That's right, One hundred and forty pounds.

I love that man.

Hardest part about making your own exhausts is getting access, a lift is the minimum required I think! frown

Mercedes-Benz 500 5.0 SE 4dr

1982PetrolSaloonAutomatic70000 miles
500 Merecedes SEL (Long Wheelbase) - Low Mileage - 70,000 miles. Here for sale is my W126 Mercedes 500 SEL. The car is in good overall condition with 70,000 miles with extensive service history. The car is finished in Gold with Saffron leather interior and walnut trim which is in good overall condition. The car was originally in possession of an elderly couple and was kept in their family since new. I am the first owner outside of their family. No expense has been spared in the upkeep of the car with a new exhaust system recently fitted and regular services throughout its life, with the last being in July 2014. The Service booklet and receipts are present. The car has benefited from being dry-stored its entire life, the car underside and bodywork are in excellent condition. Cosmetic blemishes are minimal for the age of the car. The 5 litre V8 runs smooth with no rattles and the gearbox changes are smooth as they should be. Luxuries include electric windows/sunroof, air cushioned seats, engine cut-out immobiliser and so on. As an early W126 it has Mercedes 'Mexican hat' alloy wheels. Period stereo and car phone come with this vehicle as well as phone instruction manual. Drives faultlessly and is testament of Mercedes build quality during this period. It currently has 8 months MOT. Open to discuss the car in more detail and happy for any prospective buyers to view the vehicle., GOLD, 4 owners, Next MOT due 15/08/2015, Full service history, Electric sunroof, Electric windows, Air conditioning, Leather trim, Height adjustable passenger seat, Metallic paint, Alloy wheels, Power steering, Cruise control, Central locking, Immobiliser. £4,250

As is changing oil, transmission and rear different oil. I have a hydraulic bench for my motorbikes and it makes every job 80% easier and a lot quicker.

It's in Coleraine if that means anything to you?

Advert here - I haven't done anything about contacting the seller yet mind, still mulling it over as I'm not sure on the auto aspect

I like it too. The black leather looks good, and that's a modern-looking colour which really suits the car.

Always auto FTW, and a trip over the water to boot.

Nice. Think we've seen it before actually.

Bit of emerging rust on the front driver's wing, so assume both need attention. The nasty aerial would have to go, and those wheels deserve new bolts. Fresh air trees always put me off, but I'd ignore it if he left the sweets in the car.

Offer him 3.5, haggle a bit, find an acceptable level and away you go!

Not only emphatically not-a-new-car in every way, but that colour should make every £449-a-month 6+35 drear-o-matic 4-pot-4-exhaust oily Aggresso Oakley-Belmer shrink into their IKEA sofabed every time you arrive home.

Drive slowly. Rub it in.

We have seen it before - but it's very welcome here again. The market for it must be tiny, and it's been on sale a while so haggle hard!
