Selling sorn car
Discussion
I've just taken a car off SORN, and I my sequence was to:
- insure it
- * MOT it (if MOT has expired) at a pre-arranged test
- tax it
- sell it / transfer ownership
- get refund on tax / insurance

- There is a step here also to check all the obvious stuff that an MOT will find, like corroded brakes or soggy tyres, depending on how well the car has fared when SORN'd.

It still had MOT, I just had it standing for a month after I'd switched my insurance over to my new car, tax had also just come up once the new system came into place, so just declared it sorn!
new owner taxes it with the new keeper slip (+ insurance ; if the PO /DVLA bother to check) and off they go ...Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
