Aluminum Radiator Installation
Discussion
I ordered the aluminum radiator with my kit (figured I'd save weight where I could) and the time has come for its installation. It appears to have a much tighter fin matrix than the standard unit and, while the factory assured me that no harm would come from deforming the fins while mounting the fans, I just found that it's impossible to actually do so. That is, I'm unable to drive the plastic fan retaining pins through the radiator. They don't penetrate more than half an inch (at most) before bending and losing all ability to continue through the radiator. Maybe I picked the wrong spot and am coming hard up against some internal structure?
Has anyone already solved this problem? Ideas?

Hi there,
I am wondering whether you have just been unlucky in your choice of spot. I have the aluminium radiatior, and whilst some of the fixing strap things for each fan were easier to get through than others, all went through in the end without too much drama.
Not sure that's much help to you!
