Immobiliser? If so, review the instruction sheet and reset via the blipper. If you haven't got it maybe someone will provide as we don't post publicly.

Ive checked the fuses in engine bay (if you mean the bank of 4 above the battery) all ok. I live on a hill, what about a bump start? only problem is Im stranded if it doesn't fire up!! (bridge the starter motor??)

Are you getting power to the starter when turning the key?
The starter relay is on the engine bulkhead, does that activate when you turn the key?

You should always have power at terminal 30 on the relay and have power at terminal 86 when the key is turned.

Good news !! got into car yesterday having checked all the fuses and relays again all fine, then fiddled around with the starter push button and after many attempts it fired up! still don't know what the problem was, so I thinks its into the garage for a electrical health check.

Just a little curiosity, does anyone know what these bank of 4 fuses feed? I've only just discovered these today and they were corroded with a plastic bag/cable tie on them! Apologies for the little hijack on your thread! John

Non engaging starter solenoid, may be dust stopping it, only fix is strip and clean or replace, it will fail again !!

Got into the car today for a run to the petrol station, turned key and it fired up fine, drove 8 miles to fill her up, put £45 worth in, went and paid, got back in turned key NOTHING AGAIN!! After a few choice words ************ managed to con two young chaps into giving me a push and at the second attempt "bingo" she fired up. Drove back home without any issues, parked back into garage turned off engine, waited a couple of minutes then tried to re-start, but not a thing.(More choice words) Im gonna get the starter tested after Christmas, that's my next step. BAH HUMBUG !!!

Have a fiddle with the starter fuse and relay in the engine bay. Fuse is the second one and relay is the third in its bank. Give them a wiggle and see if it works.

It's probably the starter relay, replace with a new one & you should be fine but beware it's not a normal 5 pin changeover relay. While your at it get some contact cleaner & spray the base pins before fitting the new one.

Hi, thanks for that, how many different sorts of relays are there? and am I able to replace relay at any ford spares department? If so, what is the exact one that I need please?
