Removed a blown headlight bulb. I don't have a replacement, so I suppose I'll reply again tomorrow to say I've put in a new headlight bulb...

Removed the roll cage and dash, which sent off to be flocked. Also removed seats and started preparing the floor to be repainted.

Just picked up some steel wheels with winter tyres to go on my Focus ST. Will be fitting them when my ankle is a bit better and I can drive it again.

Fixed rattling exhaust by switching the engine off and watching telly instead of lying on the floor in the dark groping around with spanners and getting pissed off.

Changed a headlight bulb...which on a Gen 7 Celica means the front bumper has to come off. Pain. In. The. Arse.

I'm considering a front mount intercooler although I've decided to see where I get with the top mount first as I want to avoid as much lag as possible. I am planning a big brake upgrade from the current 4 pots. I also need to respray. A 6 speed gearbox will also be required at some point as it should be able to achieve 350+ in this trim and I suspect as a result my gearbox will be on borrowed time. A upgrade for the suspension will help the car dramatically as well - So not much then hehe

The aim is to build a fast road car that I can also use on the track a few times a year.

Everyone keeps telling me the magic number for the classics is around 370-400bhp as fast road cars so I'm going try it once I get it back and see how I go.

I took my morris minor - freshly imported into singapore for its first MOT (in about 30 years).
It failed the first time on multiple points, then it died in the lane and wouldnt restart, one of the testers lent me a set of plugs out of his Hyundai, a mechanic who happened to be passing by lent me a plug wrench and heh presto, we were back in business. But the testers refused to print a report out - until they had taken it back for second test, heh presto it passed everything but wheel alignment...
Bugger.
Nearby Toyota garage refused to do a wheel alignment for a non toyota car, so its headed back on a tow truck back home ($180 each way), and i will try again after the christmas break.
So some great examples of pistonhead type help, and corporate numbskull short sightedness!

I had to change a wheel due to a flat tyre; have you ever tried changing a wheel at the side of a busy road in the middle of Africa in 40c heat? fk having to do that again!
