Hey guys, where can I get some struts for the wedge bonnet? I got them from sgs before but wondered if there was some where else I should go??

Cheers

Thats quite common zig...mine arent perfect.

The trick is to get some that will hold the bonnet but not much more, that way less stress on the fixings.

Sgs do an adjustable one that you let the gas out until you are happy.only a one way street but worked last time.

Just hoped someone else had a better idea! Lol

Thanks Matt...On Delilah i used secondhand Ford Capri tailgate struts..They worked perfectly and i believe they were what was used originally...At least on the 280i...Might have to pay my Ford mate a visit...Cheers...Ziga

Move the strut connection point further up or down and block the existing hole.

I have 4x old ones that came off my car when I replaced the boot and bonnet struts.
Free if anyone can use them.

If the fitting gets loose then pull it out and araldite it back in. Don't put the strut back on for a few days after.

I hope it don't...At the moment its not moving about, I was thinking of doing something like that now to stop it getting any worse..Thats why I'm thinking about some weaker struts..Something that holds the bonnet up and doesn't put too much stress on the strut mounts...Other than the "Emergency TVR bonnet stick".....smile
