Mounting 1:43 models in picture frames
Discussion
Hi all,
I have some 1:43 models tucked away in a drawer and it seems like a waste. I've reached a compromise with swmbo that they would look nice mounted in side profile in a deep frame.
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or advice on the best way to do this? A fall back would be to mount them so that the tops were visible, similar to this:

But I'd rather do them in profile if possible.
Thanks in advance for any help

Have done similar with some Dinky models. Deep box frame, nice background and some wire around the axles through the backboard so you're not damaging the model/s.
If you wish to mount them 'side on', then you'll need a deeper frame (obviously) and probably the best way to mount without damaging the model is to use either clear or black (carbon?) rods out of the backboard that rest fore or aft of the wheels, thinner being more aesthetically pleasing. Taking it further, I'd probably take inspiration form the Goodwood sculptures and have a cup on the end of the rods that the wheels sit in, you just need to measure carefully for the locating holes.
