You dont find it at all relevant to mention when doing head-to-head reviews that - let alone own a 964 yourself - you are actually reviewing your own car?
Bit Weird to say the least.
This was my biggest problem with it. Why not just say, "it's my car and I really like it"?Bit Weird to say the least.
That's the essential difference between the two films.
Hey, the asphalt just called me and told me my car was on PistonHeads.
Thanks for the kind words about the video.
If you want to see the German version of the clip, it's here.

(I find my German voice a little disturbing.)
And here are a few pictures taken during the video shoot:
I know they aren't pretty, but the aero pieces unbolt for the drive home.

wonderful machine and true motoring enthusiast...well done that man. I wish I could hold on to a car for more than a few years and develop such a relationship! Maybe one day the brand will pull me in and I too will find a world of undiluted happiness? In truth though, there are just too many cars and not enough time to drive them all
Really enjoyed that.
Agree wholeheartedly.

Nice film. I really felt empathy when he talked about the pleasure of surrendering yourself to the simple task of driving flat out on a circuit.
My thoughts exactly. Fair play to the guy for doing what he loves in his spare time with relatively modest budget. I bet the whole set-up has cost less than most people would spend leasing/HPing a shiny new trinket every two or three years which is a lesson for those of us of modest means. Jack Olsen said:
Thanks.
Here's one more photograph, then. Also by Justin Evidon.
I think it captures the thrill of having (for a few hours) the entire 2.5-mile circuit to myself.

I had Brands Hatch (Indy) to myself for 10 minutes once. I loved every moment.
Have you any further mods planned? Is there more weight you could lose from the car?

No big plans, but a non-stop march of smaller things. I recently pulled the rear 911R-style tail lights and replaced them with even lighter (and more stock-looking) replacements. There was a heater crossover tube in back that weighed something like 6 pounds -- it was cast aluminum. I replaced it with a much lighter replacement. Little weight-cutting stuff like that.
And then there's the crackpot stuff. I'm experimenting right now with a drag-reduction system for the rear wing. There's a driver-operated switch where I can change the angle of attack on the wing to reduce drag on the straights. Whether it will make a significant difference is a still-unanswered question. But I'm testing it.
