Beautiful watch, I think the MK11 speedy is one of the best looking watches ever! That looks amazing condition considering its age. Really must add one at some point smile

The MkII is a cracking watch. I had a "Racing" a few years back.

Looks like you have the chronograph running though? Not recommended to leave it running really.

Andy, why not run the chrono's all the time? I do.
Extra wear and tear - especially with a vintage watch.

Time keeping accuracy is never as good with the chrono running unless you have a twin barrel movement.

Chronographs are for timing events / intervals. Why not use them as intended?

Any who, I like it, so I'll leave mine running. biggrin
Me too, although the OCD in me requires it to be synch'd to the minor seconds dial - take note OP.

I like it running but if it's going to cause any damage ?
Should it not be running then ?
Also does any one know the correct box for a 69 ?

I think they came with a square box hinged at the back, with "moon" craters on the top and a black leather base withe the speedmaster script in silver. I am not 100% on this, but did see one in auction a couple of years back sold as with original B&P. Writing that has made me question it, surely that box would have been for a PRO Moon Watch?

... Like Thai one. http://timerecs.com/imgs/a/a/c/k/d/1969_omegaman_on_the_moon__speedmaster_861_caliber_moon_boxpapers_3_lgw.jpg

I know it shows a pro, but that is the box that the B&P Mkii was sold with at auction...

Have you emailed the Omega Museum? They are normally very good and willing to answer all manner of odd ball questions!

I wonder if both are correct, I think branding and corporate image were less managed back then, and maybe the distributor in Italy had one box style, the UK a different one?
