Whether anyone continues to manufacture "List 1c" tyres that are only useable on race tracks and not on the road, is another matter.

AFAIK We don't know yet what the rules are for List 1b and 1c in 2016. Or indeed if that is what will happen. Maybe the new R888r is Toyos attempt to pre-empt the situation and have a new tyre that can fit in to the new road legal rules?

I haven't parted company from CSCC totally, just stood down from the Committee and as the Drivers rep for Modern Classics, I fully expect to still race with them a few times at the tracks that suit me, but I may also look in to a couple of other series, preferably with 2 drivér races, so that I can race a few times at Donington. After all I only live 1 mile from the circuit!

TOYO just updating an old product.Still in top two I, m told. Good luck with the racing in new year what ever you decide. Why not get one of Tim, s Tuscan, s or my Chevrolet car and play in the Challenge instead

Thanks. I don't have that sort of cash I'm afraid! There's a good reason why I have raced a 924S for the last 18 months and if I tell you that if I blow up my engine I can get another from my local Porsche breaker for £350 then that should help explain!!!

That said, I have just part ex'd my Toyota Super Production car for a BMW M3 E36 so you may see me out in that, unless I decide it's too nice, and sell it instead!!

I may also have a look at the 360mrc races as they are talking about a few 2 hour races as well as their usual annual 6 hour race.

Just to bump this.

How does the R888R compare to the R888 overall, in the wet also?

Ahhh okay. These are the only tires (of this type) that are road legal still. All the others are no longer road legal, or not available in my size. I'll see how much tread I have left before I take the plunge.

I posted the same question on the uk club Motorsport forum and had a few answers. I don't know how to add the link but the thread is on the first page.

Just copy the link from the search bar and paste into the reply box, the forum automatically translates to a link iirc
