My wife and I have several-

"It's really not our sort of thing, but under the circumstances"

Sir Hilary Bray in OHMSS, used in any situation that really isn't our sort of thing.

"It's the old wound, my king, it has never healed"

Sir Lancelot in Excalibur, used to refer to any minor on-going health problem.

"We are well prepared my lord"

Mr Stephens in Remains of the Day, used in response to any query about readiness

"I want him given a good going over, not killed, just give a good going over, with my compliments"

Mr Bridger in the Italian Job, quite often used about naughty cats (not that they ever get the good going over).

"They don't figure to last"

John Dunbar in Dances With Wolves, used usually in encouraging the other to finish off the grapes, strawberries, whatever.

Slight changes are made to the wording to fit circumstances.

I find this an excellent put down in most situations.

I guess so, but I may well not know them, so might be as well to say where it comes from and when you use it.

"Well good for you, son".

Robert Mitchum in The Longest Day, a rather sarcastic reference to a subordinate who'd lost and then found his rifle.

I also say "Hellooooowwwww" to my daughter in the manner of the bag-lady who stands in as Goldie Hawn's mother in The Housesitter.

In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock

Chaps, this wan't intended to be a favourite movie quotes threads, it's supposed to be about quotes you actually use in conversation, so we need to know when you would use them, as well as where they come form.
