2014 - what are you proud of?
Discussion
Finished the restoration of a 1915 Model T ford.
Came 1st 1st 2ed and 7th in rally hilclimbs and races in my old racer and covered around 3000 miles in it. (other positions not worth mentioning)
Taught my other half's horse to play fetch.
Started painting and very happy with the results, plus I get to look at naked women with other halfs permission . (Im severely dyslexic and can hardly write with a pen)
Stopped drinking for 3 months just to prove to myself I could.

How did you manage to teach the horse to play fetch, my sister has a few and so far none of them are showing promising signsCame 1st 1st 2ed and 7th in rally hilclimbs and races in my old racer and covered around 3000 miles in it. (other positions not worth mentioning)

I also stopped drinking for a few months to prove I could, that was in 2008 and I can count the number of drinks I've had since on one hand

Started a new staff job as CAD Technician (been contract for years) closer to home. Got promoted to Deputy BIM Manager after 5 months and have just been told I will also be Lead CAD Technician from next year with a rise of 2 grades
Got onto the Bloodstock festival crew working as drum tech on the New Blood stage, worked with some great unsigned bands and got to watch/chat to Obituary from the side of the main stage.
Also got friends with Evil Scarecrow and have crewed for them a few times including getting to do the Lawnmower Deth/Evil Scarecrow xmas party in Camden last weekend.
Actually, thinking about it, I'm now friends with a good few of theguys from UK metal bands I listened to growing up, which is pretty damn cool to my inner 15 y/o, lol.

I am immensely proud of my wife. She donated one of her kidneys, and went into the major surgery without even a wimper. So brave. She has made a full recovery and is very modest about her achievement.
The recipient of that kidney has had his life changed. Thats me.
Wow!The recipient of that kidney has had his life changed. Thats me.
seeing my son get married yesterday and make an absolute brilliant groom speech made me see him to be the man I'd always hoped a son would be. Plus hosting him and his new wife's reception in a 'winter wonderland' theme that I planned and set up which literally made so many people speechless at its beauty made a day to saviour for a very long time.
I also got introduced to the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh who were both charming, witty and engaging.

Got off the dole in March.
Moved out of parents house in September
Got a promotion last month
Had an interview this week for another job, which is a fair bit more money than I'm currently on.
Still working on my photography portfolio, but as it's just a hobby theres no rush.
All in it's been a hell of a good year. Very happy with where I'm going at the moment.

Started a business and it's been a hit so far and learned a lot of new skills in doing so. Self built a house and am hopefully a few weeks away from not living in a static caravan for the first time in 2 years. Still happily married in the (itchy, supposedly) 7th year. Went back to my old job part time and enjoy it a lot more now it's not the be all and end all.
Not so proud - lost 2.5 stone in Jan/Feb, put it all back on.
You can't win em all!
