Looks like i'll be visiting Delhi, Noida and Ahmadebad in late January for business. Whilst I'm there I would like to take in some of the sights and sounds. other than the Taj Mahal, can anyone recommend other places to visit?

Ahmadebad has very little to see, but its full of good restaurants. The step well is worth going to.

udaipur and agra are both worth visiting.

Just a note to remind you that Ahmadebad is a dry state / city!

Yes- and the hotels do confiscate any alcohol found in the normal security check upon entry...and then return it when you leave.

The toilet, if the experience of every single person I know who's visited India is accurate.

Not true. Simple precautions - no salads, no ice, bottled water, and no street food, no problems.

True.
Many people opt for a vegetarian diet whilst in India. Eliminates a number of potential issues. Only eat freshly cooked, piping hot food.

I go to india for 4 to 6 weeks at a time for work and I have not had any issues over the last 5 or 6 trips.

Just be very careful with food and water, remember not to open your mouth in the shoer or use tap water when brushing your teeth.

I visit India on business about 3 times per year and have never had a problem caused by bad food or water.
Hotel provides four bottles or more of water every day for drink, rinsing tooth brush etc., so helps to minimise risks.
Marriott in Hyderabad does a great rub steak as well smile
