I think it is better to have a card and the app where both exist - just in case mobile reception is dodgy at a chargepoint and you are running in 'fumes'
I have charged twice today at the ecotricity rapid charger at doncaster moto services - smashing
That said, a friend of mine rolled up to Woodhall Services on the M1 and the ecotricity machines had been turned off and the ecotricity people didn't know why

Having heard some people having issues with Chargemaster points and their Zoe I was prepared for disappointment when I pulled up outside ASDA in our local retail park. To my pleasant surprise the unit worked fine.
After a quick wizz round ASDA and an hour dress shopping for SWMBO, the ZE Services app showed we were fully charged. Brilliant, a free 200mikes worth of electrons.

Glad to hear its all going well. I am 7mths and 2.5k of largely urban, congenstion charge and free fuel miles behind me. Terrific. I like that this is happening on PH but there is a good forum, albeit not mega active, which will have answers to all your questions about software, delivery, passwords etc etc. myrenaultzoe.com.
Some of the charge point issues you may come across are a result of a lack of mobile signal. I have found RFID cards work generally very well. Occasionally chargers just won't work. Bit like anything these days, sometimes they need turning off and on again. Please do report faults to the operator.
Have fun everyone. Get used to starting to drive smoooothly!

Couple of 'user' hints for you new peoples. I will add more as they cross my mind.
1) Eco mode. I now use this as my default for town driving. It turns down the heater etc and trims the power available in normal driving and limits the top speed but hence making the car go further. However, like an automatic car, there is a 'kickdown' facility which overrides this. Push the accel pedal past the stop at the end of the travel and you still get full power. Good for pulling out of junctions etc before coasting along again in the urban environment.
2) Don't forget you can turn the heating on either via the app or the 'key'. the website tends to suggest this is only available when the car is plugged in. Whilst you can set timers etc to arrive to a warm car, the key or app function turns the heating on for 5 mins. Which is enough to get the car defrosted.
3) Keyless go. If you lock the car using the fob buttons, you will have to unlock it using the fob bbuttons. If you lock the car by walking away, you can open it by pressing the black handle button. It seems very reliable. By the way you do not have to put the key in the slot - just keep it in your pocket.

I like this function a lot.Couple of days in and I still like it and it isn't broken. So far so good!
I've decided against using ECO mode for now. None of my journeys trouble the range so, not being environmentally minded, I prefer the lack of speed limit and effective heater.
On the A/B road trips I was doing yesterday it performed really well. It effortlessly got up a hill which troubles my missus' 1.4 Fiesta so I think compares well for that class of car. Well, I say effortlessly, without the engine sound you're never quite sure how hard you're working it. 60kw was on the meter so presumably quite hard.
My only bug bears are the driving position which could really do with seat height adjustment... and the frankly awful high beam lights.
Other than that, well happy with it.

First weekend gone with mine. Liking it a lot! Wife likes it more so I can see some arguments over who drive which car!
I have a few niggles to sort. My blue Renault logo on the front is slightly chipped and my windscreen squirtys don't squirt high enough onto the window. I did think I had a fault on the rear belt sensor too but it turned out my daughter was clicking the belt into the center buckle rather than the side one. This causes the car to think she's not belted in.
Only using home charging at present as I am waiting my charge cards to arrive. My 16amp charger is a bit slow, takes 3hrs to get it from 65% up to full, but hey ho.
Considering the price, running costs and what you get for your money I'm surprised loads of folks aren't snapping these up.

I understood the Zoe came with a free 32A charger installation for all retail customers? Zoe wall boxFastNReliable said:

it is somewhat of a misunderstandingany ev owner can qualify for a free charger install, it is nothing to do with renault (or any other manufacturer), it is a government funded programme run through the OLEV (office of low emission vehicles)
going the renault recommended route to British Gas will likely lead to a longer wait for an install than other routes

As i'll also be charing a Leaf, I'm getting Rolec to install a 32a type 2 socket so it can charge both cars for no additional cost.
Annoying thing is that they seem to be shut for Christmas!
