New year in Lille

Quite often fancy a couple of days away after Xmas and this year I've booked Lille, via Ferry and car. Plan is that it might be a nice place to stroll, and I can stock up on a bit of wine in the way home, and it's not too far!

Happen to be there NYE and wondered if much goes on in terms of celebrations? Will be me the missus and our 5 year old so no clubs/parties but some fireworks/street entertainment would be good.

Any ideas or general pointers for Lille?
