We luckily got to wrap up everything at work yesterday on the night shift so i've been able to finish early (friday 19th was last day) which was great! We are expecting our first child on the 6th Jan so xmas is pretty much cancelled as all spending has been on getting ready for little legs's arrival. If all goes to plan, with paternity and extra leave in, I won't be back at work until mid Feb.
If you're anything like I was with our first, you'll be begging to go back to work by about the 9th of January!!! hehe

Once you've done the first 24 hours of "look, we've got a baby", they do nothing but make your life tedious and miserable until they're about three!

also self employed and looking forward to finishing monday lunch till the 5th.

only issue is i have a new person i am reporting to (contracting) and she keeps changing her mind about whether she wants something done over the holiday period, last week we were doing it, yesterday we weren't today we might be.

i have said if she doesn't decide by the end of the day it's not happening, she's not in monday, only me and the reception staff, oh well i'm only moving data on servers smile

3pm today. Off for a week then back in for the Mon-Wed before new year.

Lads coming round tomorrow afternoon for drinking, films, wargaming\videogaming, much rum and vodka stockpiled.

The good lady is down in Liverpool with her parents for xmas, so I get a week to watch films, make lego and generally have a laugh.

Looking forward to it actually.

East Africa; based in Tanzania.
I have never worked East Africa, but the West is certainly 'difficult'

Safe journey home.
To be fair East Africa is the easiest African location after South Africa; but I was never happy here so I'm glad to finally see the end of it to be honest. Will miss my team but will be happier to be back in Blighty.

6hrs 12mins then I'm off till December 29th and in for 2 days.

Pretty chuffed as I'm relatively new to the company and used to working up till Xmas Eve, the misses is working till Xmas eve so I have a few days to chill.

I had my exams before Christmas this year and don't have a part time job so for the first time since school I actually have a holiday!

Finished my last exam on Wednesday and classes don't start again until the 12th. Besides seeing family etc the car needs a bloody good clean and I will hopefully playing a few small gigs with a couple of mates back home.

A bit different to last year where it was 12 hour shifts every day except Christmas Day and Boxing Day! hehe

Well yes and no, in some respects I assume that such people chose an occupation which they knew could require this?!
