Morning, I've just got to work, an hour after I wanted to arrive.

Reason being, my iPhone alarm didn't go off this morning. I wouldn't be so arsed but I know for a fact that it was set, so I'd like to find out why it didn't go off and how to stop it not going off again.

Is there an event log or similar I can check to see for any errors? It is Jailbroken if that helps.

My first thought was maybe it was looking for an audio file that had been deleted, but it is the stock alarm tone selected for that time.

Anyone else had this?

The alarm still has sound when it is on mute.
Unless it doesn't when jailbroken?

You haven't got Do Not Disturb mode switched on?

I've found that has interrupted my alarm before.

Your phone may be on mute, however you still need to have the ringer volume on full as that corresponds to the alarm volume too.

[I think!?]

Maybe you just slept through the alarm? I've done that on a few occasions.

Done that several times. Ipad alarm did actually stop working a few years ago after an update, required going into the settings and re enabling something before it worked again.

I thought the alarm didn't sound when the phone is on mute, as I've twice woken up quite a bit later than I wanted, only to find out once I'm at work that it was on mute.

When I'm not on call my phone is on mute and do not disturb and the alarm still sounds as long as the volume is turned up so I can hear it.

I thought the alarm keeps ringing until it is switched off? Or at the least it should display the alarm screen when I eventually do unlock the phone?

Phone probably was on mute but my phone lives on mute - it doesn't affect the alarm.

Also, I disabled the option to adjust the ring volume with the volume buttons ages ago.

I guess I could have just slept through it - does anyone know if it would eventually time out?

Definitely sounds when it is on silent smile
It is put on silent so calls and texts don't wake me up.
I use it every morning and it has never let me down.

Think the alarm does give up trying to wake you rather than continually going. Also bear in mind there is the volume that can be muted, ie when playing games, then there's the ringer volume, not sure which one does the alarm though.
