Hey All!

During my recent broken TVR issue which some of you will have seen, I did a fair bit of reading about common issues and oddities with Chims.

This got me thinking that there are probably some spare bits I should keep in the car at all time to ensure that a small well known issue doesn't warrant a call to the AA.

Now obviously we can't all drive around with a boot full of spare ECUs, Diffs etc, but certainly having some spares of the small items that often cuase big issues would be worth while, especially if you are off on holiday!

So I will start off a small list below, but I am by no means and expert and new to the TVR game so please add any addtitional bits you all think its important to carry please do add them (along with part numbers if you know them). Also if you have part numbers or a recommend brand for any of the items I or others list please feel free to add them!

  • 2X 100 Amp Fuse
  • 2X Fuel Pump Relay (Part No: M0124)
  • 1X Headlight Relay (Part No: M0509)
  • 2X H4 (472) Headlight (Main/Dip) Bulb (Any recommended brand here?)
  • 4X 501 Capless Bulb (Sidelight/Num Plate/Interior)
  • 2X 382 Indicator Bulb
  • 2X 380 Brake Lights
  • 4X 10A Fuse
  • 4X 15A Fuse
  • 4X 20A Fuse
  • 2X 25A Fuse
  • Jump Leads
  • Spare Oil
  • Basic Tool Kit (Any suggestions for specific tools needed?)

I've got spares tucked away various niches in the car

Fan belt
Coil
Set of bulbs
Stepped motor
Rotor arm
Dizzy cap
Tyre foam

Other important little things dotted around the car too

Failing by that the good old AA card is now virtual on my phone only used it for the TVR 3 years ago when the ignition barrel locked up on me on my drive I missed out on a hog roast bap at the David Gerald TVR open day!!

Yes to all of the above, have had to use the fuel pump relay and the indicator bulb out on the road already myself in my first year of ownership.

Spare throttle cable inner I think is a good idea as I have heard of couple of people say these break. Cannot find a part number or even a cable diameter and length though, any body any ideas so I can get hold of one for my spares kit? I don't really need the full on expensive TVR complete spare, just a 'get me home' inner.
