Dropper Post Help
Discussion
Hi guys
I've treated myself to an early Christmas present but I can't get my dropper post to work. Can anyone help please?
It's a Giant Contact Switch. The post is pre-cabled and it's set to the external routing which I'm happy to use rather than internal.
The post will go down with me pushing it but then it just moves back up again! I can't get any functioning from the lever/cable at all. I don't think it's faulty, I'm sure it's something I'm not setting up right.
Any help appreciated so I can get out and ride it!
Cheers

It sounds like the cable is too tight, try adjusting the cable adjuster by the lever to add some slack.
Failing that, confirm that there is nothing stopping the small lever at the top of the seatpost (under/behind the saddle mounting) from moving correctly.
If I remember correctly on the MK2 Contact dropper seatpost (the one with the internal routing option) the cable is fixed by a small grub screw at the lever end, you may have to loosen this to release some tension on the cable.
I've got the MK2 Contact dropper seatpost and it's a world apart from the MK1. The MK1 was always seizing-up and needed constant maintenance, and after about a years use it used to swivel left and right due to wear. The MK2 is much much better.
I hope you get it working correctly, I swear by it.
