Fan noise from behind dash

Morning Gents,
Had my first TVR'ism yesterday.
Turned the key to pre ignition stage, so fuel pump whirring etc, and there was a fan noise that sounding like it was coming from behind the speedo.
I made sure the fan was off, however it's a very constant, and loud drone that doesn't go away. If I put my hand to the right of the dash by the door I can feel a wind coming through the dash, but not through the vents.
Very bizzare, anybody had something like this before? Or shall I just start pulling fuses.

Have you got an extra fan control switch fitted?
Mine has one under the dash next to the boot release button - yours would not necessarily be in the same place. On mine, this fan blows only ambient air (i.e. cold) not controlled by the main heater/fan controls.
If you have the same it could be that.
